Finally Lowered!

Finally lowered, but not without my usual run of good luck!! Hub Carrier got a hairline crack in it, so that needs replacing.
Wheels sitting upstairs iching to go on.
Ride quality - well, early days and what with the knackered hub carrier, took it really easy home, but first impressions are that it definately feels more responsive and firmer, but not too firm it breaks ya back! Got some really crap roads around here, so even a Rolls royce would feel rough!
There's a little bit of bounce but nothing really to write home about. I can gove a better review once the hub is sorted. Im very happy with the initial ride height and I expect it would drop slightly more once settled. Obviously, if i ever get some spacers, Ill get some pics done with the wheels also.

Yes, I went for the cheaper option as cant afford Coilovers and H&R had a really good write up - cost me £260 and had to come from Germany. I am happy with them. Eibach are a little softer, but dont do them for the S4 - saying that, the H&R ones are by no means hard - they firm up the ride and make it so much more responsive but still have a good ride.
I havent tested them fully, to be fair, the fastest I have done it in was 25mph on a crawl back from garage due to the hub carrier damage.

It does look smart now. When will the carrier be sorted and have you sorted out the problem with the spacers now?

The spacers arrive tomorrow hopefully with any luck and I have also had an apology from the other company from whom I was ordering the last lot of spacers from. The hub carrier is being collected this afternoon and fitted Friday (again hopefully) Once that is done, the wheels will go on and Ill be finally happy.

Sorry to go off-topic, but what percentage are your tints mate? And what spacers did you go for?

Cant tell you about the tints, they were on when I got it - I believe the rears are standard factory but what the fronts are I wouldnt know. Ref spacers (my favourite topic currently) I originally went with ESP, but have had no luck so have gone with AUDI BIMECC HUBCENTRIC WHEEL SPACER KIT 10MM/15MM + BOLTS from M.A.P.S Ltd (Obviously they are not on yet)

I'd sooner not talk about it! Carrier pigeon should have been back Monday evening, but didnt arrive. I was then promised Tuesday and waited in all day, but again, never turned up!
Carrier Pigeon then emailed me to say definately will arrive today, but cant say an exact time, probably pm though. Fingers crossed!

hi mate, mind me asking why you went for spacers instead of changing the ET? just curious as I changed my ET and have had no problems at all.

I couldnt get the correct ET on those wheels as they wernt available. I had to wait like a year before they could get them.

bugger that, a year? I see... glad the reason wasn't more elaborate like stress on joints or anything like that! lol, cant wait to see the pics of it with the rims on

Hi MICALEE,
Car looks so much better now It's been lowered!!
You say you got the H & R Springs for £260, Is that inc VAT and where did you get them from? if you don't mind me asking, because i'm in the process of sourcing some springs for my S4.
Also have you got your spacers on yet?
