Audi S4 (05 Plate) Advice

Hello everyone

I am looking for some advice. I have been looking for an S4 Avant for a month or so but today I have been offered a saloon and I am considering it even though ideally I want the Avant model. I am new to S4's so not sure what to look for or if this is good value??

Year : 2005 (March)
Mileage : 90000 with Full Audi Service History
MOT : 12 Months
Owners : 2 including the Audi Dealership as a demonstrator
Colour : Dark Blue
Interior : Cream Leather
Spec : Auto box with paddle shift on steering wheel, DVD Sat Nav System, 6 CD Autochanger, Electric Heated seats, Zenon Lights, Split Rear Seats with Ski Opening

Bad Bits : A few scuffs on the bodywork, no knocks or rusting and will probably be able to polish most of them out. Wheels have a few scuffs and will probably need refurbished. Car looks standard and has 2 pipes out of either side at the rear and the brakes look standard.

The price is £12,000 with no warranty. Is this a good buy?

Spec sounds ok.
Depends on your attitude to high mileage and without a warranty how lucky you feel. Brakes tyres and other consumeables may well be reaching the end of their lives so check carefully.
Is it a dealer or private seller, with a dealer you will have some comeback.
I would check very carefully for repaired accident damage because even with my view on S4 prices that does sound cheap.
See how it drives though, might be a really good car.
I've been looking for a saloon but all the cars I've liked have been avants, if you decide against it please pm me the details

12K for 90k miler does not sound cheap to me. 90K is a lot of mleage for a 4yr old car. If you are after an Avant wait. No point compromsing if your looking to spend 10K on a car

Wait for an avant! Far more practical than the saloon, I have had both and prefer the avant over the saloon (still have avant, B7). 90k miles is a lot for a 4 year old car and it's over priced IMHO

P/X Values from NetworkQ.co.uk

Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition: £10850
Average condition: £9760
Below average condition: £8690

Is it a trader or private sale, if a trader they are legally required to give a 6 month warranty anyway but an Audi warranty would be around £1200 per year, other warrantys maybe cheaper.

Sounds high to me. Mine has 60k on the clock, '54 plate, better colour (black), mint and only £13750.00

Thanks for all the input. I have decided to let this one go and wait for an Avant. The car was a trade in at my Audi dealer and they are putting it through the auction in Manchester or Preston in the next week or so. As I have bought a lot of Audi's from them they offered it to me as a trade sale (with no warranty but with a check over and 12 months MOT).
