Could I be leaking water?

Post by dsearle » Mon Aug 10, 2009 3:25 pm

Hi everybody,

I'm noticing a water leak coming from under the car? Is this possible? It doesn't appear to be very much and I'm certainly not noticing any reservoir in the engine compartment.

Any ideas?

Dave

You will get what appears to be a water leak on hot days when you have the Air conditioning on full blast. This is just moisture condesing on the cold bits underneath.

Most cars do get condensation from their A/C units. I hope that this is what you will see.

If you think it is still a coolant leak, put a light colour basin under the car and catch some of the water. If it is blue or green in colour, it is more likely a small coolant leak, otherwise it is probably the A/C.

But if you are not using any water, I suspect it is almost certainly condensation from the A/C.
