I have decided on some wheels finally, but now I am faced with 8.0x19 or 8.5x19? What should I go for?

What Tyre size? (235/35/19 presumably)
What offset should I get also (Ill be lowering it also)

I just got a new set of wheels for mine, I went for 235/35/19 on an ET 35 offset. the PCD is 112... what are you looking at? I originally wanted Dotz Mugellos but they were out of stock... by the way, mine are on an 8J so you can use either the ET 35 or the ET 45. however, if you go 8.5J you are limited to ET 35 only...

by the way, mine isn't lowered...

I like the look of these: http://www.elitedirect.com/1-wheels/1-z ... silver.php I wont be getting them from there, its merely so you can see them! I have the option of 8.0J or 8.5J. What would be the difference (bar width) Does it make any difference?

Arnt the original RS4 Alloys 8.5x19 ET35?

the difference is with of the actual alloy, with the offestting it determines the distance between the hub and the inner edge of the alloy. so with a wider wheel (8J) you will need to offset it more to still have the inner edge of the alloy avoid rubbing on the suspension strut. I found that on my B6 it was close using the stock 8J alloys on 235's at ET 45. so a quick test with 8.5J on 235's at ET45 and they wouldnt go on at all. at 8.5J the ET 35's are the only way.

Those alloys look nice mate, check with the manufaturer or supplier to ensure they clear the breaks first. because the S4's have big stoppers it limits alloy choice because of internal clearance.

and get some pics up when done! :-)

Right, I think I got it. Thanks very much for the advice, especially the clearance on brakes. Ill post some pics when Ive finally got around to doing it.
