Sidelight bulbs

Daft question, but which sidelight bulbs do I use to replace the blown one on the S4? Everywhere says 501's but when I remove the bulb they are offset bayonet rather than blades. Hmm....I bought some rather trick [S4] 4 x led versions - blade type!

Are Audi trying to fool me and the blade pulls out of the bayonet holder or do I buy a direct replacement form the Stealers?

...I may be missing something here...and the DIS continually reminds me of my 'blonde moment'

All feedback/abuse welcome

No, you need a 6w bayonet type (offset pin) bulb. BA9S comes to mind.

LED ones can be found too, but much harder to find than the 5w wedge type.

Hi mate. H6w bulbs are required. I brought a pair of led one's from ultraleds.com or uk. They make a huge difference to the look of the car at night with the lights on. You will sometime's get a fault code due to them drawing less power but it sorts it self out, you can alway's put a resistor in line.

I also use the LED equivalents from ultraleds. I have not had any fault codes or side light out warnings to date.

Cheers chaps. Ultraleds sounds the way forward.

Anyone want to buy some 4 x led (blade style) bulbs....As they say in Turkey "I do special price for you."

OK so i bought a pair of H6W BAX9 1.5W Offset Pin LEDs nearly a year ago (http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/latest-bax9- ... -2289.html), and finally got round to swaping them this week, only to find that B7's take a blade (wedge) type bulb - bugger it.

Is it poss that B6's take a regular bulb, and B7's the wedge? :audibash:

If so, which one do I need?
