Hello, new B6 Noggy Avant owner here...

Hi,
I'm new to the forum, picked up my new (to me) 03 S4 yesterday.
She's in Nogaro blue, black leather with blue alcantara, manual, bose, rear parking sensors, broken glove box hinge and one kerbed wheel.
I have booked her in for a service, £277 from local Audi stealer, but I was quoted more than double that from another dealer. Its done 58k, would this suggests its due a major service?
On a plus point, if you register with Audi.co.uk, they are offering free MOT's.
Milltek is top of the list for mods, then a boot buddy and mesh screen for the dog, then maybe tints, coilovers and wheels.
I live near Stourbridge, West Midlands, and had to travel down to Watford to pick her up. It was an interesting journey back, as my friend took me down in his Subaru Impreza WRX PPP. He had the edge until NSL but then the V8 took over where his turbo began to struggle.
Coming from a Seat Leon Cupra R, I'm more than happy with the S4, just can't help but keep peeking at the MPG
Any suggestions/advice appreciated.
Dave

Firstly Hi and Welcome..
Secondy, don't peek at the mpg
The service price seems reasonable, my B7 avant had its second AVS service at £303 plus a glovebox repair (parts approx £115 inc VAT). With regard to the free MOT offer, I would not take them up on it because it is just a way of getting more work, use a good independant that you trust.
Cheers
Pete

Enjoy the S4, and dont panic about the mpg. You'll be getting c20-22mpg most of the time, but the noise (especially once you've changed the zorst) will more than make up for it !!

Hi mate and welcome. Which stealer, beechwood? Been there my self a couple of time's and wasn't too impressed with them. I'm only round the corner from you in Dudley so might see you knocking around. I took mine to MRC in Banbury for the service, great drive down and great service from them too.
As for the mpg, chop 2" off your right leg and that should help, it's the only way.

Thanks for the replies.
Yes, I'm booked in at Beechwood, i'll give them a go although I've not been impressed with their 'sales team' on previous visits. Absolutely shocking service, walked around unoticed for almost an hour. I actually began to feel like Bruce Willis in the 6th Sense...
Dunc, flash if you see me! I work in Smethwick (for my sins!) so I'm usually wafting to and from.
Will keep you all updated with my progress, I'm lucky enough to have two Audi specialists within a mile or so from my house which may come in handy. Will be making enquiries with MIJ in Walsall this week also, on the exhaust front.
Cheers,
Dave

will flash if I see you too...am in Stourport with a Noggy S4 Avant...beware of beechwood, tried to convince me that I had a cambelt service due....AFAIK the B6 S4 has a cam chain.....in fact I know it has, had the rocker box covers off a couple of weeks ago to replace worn seals that were causing some oil loss...

MIJ fabricated and fitted the full, sports cats, cat back and downpipes, zorst system on my car. Saved me 1K over the Miltek equivalent.

I understand MIJ zorsts are pretty good too, on the sound and performance front?
So the zorst cost you c£1000 ?

Sound wise it is louder but not too intrusive. I had them install a X-pipe. This helps to reduce the droning by balancing the sound from each back. It is aids gas flows. The car definitely feel more potent and pulls harder. The car has also had a map which brings everything together better. I have no idea of bhp/lb ft figures. I will, eventually, do some vag-com logs for 0-60 & 1/4 mile sprints and then calculate the figures. Eventually......
The total cost was apporx 1200. The Milltek equivalent is up to 2500 depending where you go. If you use them make sure you instruct them clearly so that you get exactly what you want first time around.
