Alloys

Post by chunky79 » Sun Aug 24, 2008 8:04 pm

I'm looking to change my alloys soon and was wondering if there are any people on here running none standard alloys?
If yes, what are they and do you have any pic's?
Thinking of getting either R8 or RS4 rep's.
Is there anyone running bigger than 18' and does it make much difference to the ride?

Cheers

Why not try and get some Gallardo reps. They look amazing. As nice as the RS4/R8's look they are a bit, erm, common when it comes to A4/S4 replicas.

19" is OK just dont buy heavy ones as it will spoil the ride.
253/35x19 on the tyre side is fine.
A pic of my old S4 on BBS LM`s

I like the look of the gallardo's but the wife really isn't keen on them plus they seem to be the wheels of the moment.
I agree that the RS4 rep's are pretty much now on every A4 you see but haven't seen one with the R8 alloys on.
I think that any 19" rep's are going to be on the heavy side so think that will rule them out.
I've seen a couple of nice BBS alloy's, CX-R and Air II cy but will be way out of my budget with goodyears on.

Has anyone run alloys with the offset being ET35 in stead of the original ET45?
I went and looked at some alloy's and the guy told me i could run ET35 with no problem on the S4?

Correct, so long as the wheel size is 8.5x18 or 8.5x19 any wider and you may have some clearence issues on the front.

I fitted the 8.5x19 BBS LM`s to my old B6. They were ET32 fitted with 235/35x19 tyres. Nice and light fitted with no issues.

I really thought hard about getting 19's but just didn't want to make the ride too harsh.

Hi all,

Im looking to get either the R8 Reps like Chunky79 or these ...

http://www.alloywheels.com/product.asp? ... &PT_ID=147

However when I spoke to the guys there they reckon that the TSW Demon's in the link above wont fit.
I thought this was a little strange as the specs are the same as the Avus 8jx18 - ET45 - 235/40zr18's that are standard on this car.
The guy there says these ones wont fit over the callipers on the S4 when I checked with him.
How can you know for definate if they will fit or not ?
