New Tyres..??

Hi
I have only had the S4 for a couple of months now, but it is in need of 4 new tyres.
What do people recommend and any good places online where I can get a good deal? I have seen Goodyear Eagle F1's which come in at £500 fitted and I don't want to spend too much more to tell the truth, so would like to hear peoples experiences?.
Cheers,
Ant

I got 4 Goodyear eagle F1 Assymetrics fitted at my local Kwiffit for £120 each, I did have Dunlop sp sport max which lasted for 15000 miles from new (Original to the car) but the Goodyears are much better all round. Kwik fit quoted £120 each for the dunlops, if you are interested.

Thanks guys. So is the Eagle F1 GSD3 any good or is the Assymetrics the one to go for?

What were the tyre dimensions for that price? The lowest price inc fitting I could get for 255/35/18 F1 Assymetrics at my Kwick-Fit was £145 ea.

F1 Assymetric's are the newer design, and are supposed to be better than the GSD3.

Moved from PS2 to F1 assymetric and I am really happy: much better feedback, tauter.
Few things to consider:
- May wear quickly (don't know yet)
- A bit slippery when cold (especially when new)

Tyre size on my car (B7 S4 Avant) is 235/45 R18. As for the price I basically played a few of them off against each other and may have slipped in one or two little exagerations of the truth on what the last person had quoted !! I gave up at £120 !

That's strange? I thought standard fit was 235/40/18. Your car must be slightly higher geared with those fitted.

You may be right, I do suffer from short term memory loss ! and can't get to my car to check at the moment as I am offshore. The price was right though!

If anyone with wear experience on the F1's could post their thoughts it'd be interesting - always stuck with PS2's because of my high mileage (great wear, ~ 20k), but the reviews of the F1's in the trade are all great, with regard to grip and feel.

I ordered 4 F1 Assymetrics of
www.mytyres.co.uk last Friday which came to £486, but I am still waiting for them to be delivered. I will let you know my thoughts for when they do arrive and I have arranged fitting.
Thanks for the recommendations!
Cheers,
Ant

I've got the F1's in 19 inch on my S4 and the grip is certainly outstanding. The fronts on mine are starting to go on both shoulders after about 7,500 miles, but the rears are in great shape so this weekends job is to do the old front/rear swap to even them up.

I had a set of Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's fitted today, so watch this space. I'm going on a trip around Europe at the end of the month so I give you all a report.
