Curious clutch issue

Post by tweek » Sat May 24, 2008 10:23 pm

Hi All,

I noticed recently that when engaging 1st gear and driving off, the clutch appears to slip for a few seconds before fully connecting. This is not a consistent problem but does happen sometimes first thing in the morning or after work i.e. after the car has sat for several hours.

Can anyone suggest possible causes for this behaviour, I don't want to take it to the dealers as they give the usual fob off NFF nonsense. I'm sure their brains hurt if they use 'em.

Thanks

Pete

I had an odd problem with my clutch on take up and after 2 new clutches it turned out to be the clutch actuation arm was at fault. The dealer tec said it looked okay on inspection but Audi tec had surggested it may be at fault and it fixed the problems. :)

I had am issue with my clutch slipping on take off under heavy accelarationj from rest. I took it to the dealers and was told that the S4 clutch will not cope with the amount of torque developed from the engine. I discovered that the clutch does not slip when the car is launched from a rolling start however. I put it down to just the way they are what with the car being heavy etc and didnt launch from rest again.

I sold mine in Feb...now looking for another if anyone knows of one for sale!

Mine did a similar thing yesterday, slipped untill I lower the revs, it then seemed to catch up and I could accelerate away normally....... Very strange
