Armrest catch!!

Why are Audi armrest catches so damn useless? The one on my S4 broke last night - if it was an isolated incident I wouldn't mind, but 2 previous Audi's did exactly the same. Anyone know how to fit a replaceement, what's the likely cost and how how do I stop it happening again?

Mine was broken when i bought it - i think you have to replace the whole unit.

Mine has gone too but took 50k miles. Surely the catch can be bought off some internet site?

You'd hope so wouldn't you, but having looked at it closely I can't actually work out how it would come apart??

There are no screws from what I can see - maybe it just prises apart??
