Fitting a new drink holder

Post by dsearle » Sun Mar 02, 2008 10:15 pm

Guys,

My drink holder in the centre console is broken. I've bought a new module from VAG Parts and it's perfect. I just don't know how to take apart the trim surrounding the existing drinks holder unit. How is it held together? I can see there is plastic trim over the top of the centre console however I didnt want to force/break any clips etc. Anybody done this before?

Thanks,

Dave

Well I'm slowly getting the information together in order to replace this part of the interior. I've seen the service manual which shows what is required. I need some 'specialist tools' though. They look like the old car stereo 'keys' which people used to remove the car stereos etc. Does anybody know where these specialist tools can be purchased from, borrowed? Obviously the Audi garage have them but from what I can see this job will take about 15 mins and paying 80 notes for a 15 mins job is just ridiculous.

Sorted it. New Drink Holder installed and working like a dream. PM me if you ever get this problem. Easy once you know how.
