My S4 Avant

Post by Vorsprung_Durch_Technik » Thu Jan 17, 2008 10:27 pm

Just a few Snaps of my pride and joy. Apologies if you have already seen these on Audi-Sport.net.

Hope you like them. I am considering caliper covers, and painting the door trim, but apart from that. I like it the way it is.

Very nicee mate. It's the same as mine apart from the inserts on the seats, mine are silver. The only thing i had thought of doing was putting soome spacers on the wheels, think some people on here have done it and say it makes it look a little meaner!

yeah I had read about these. Im off to do a search to see what I can find.

I found the caliper covers on a VAG parts site, but do you know if they come as a full set of four or just as two fronts? It was unclear.

Thanks

Lovely car VdT. Have you thought about adding a Milltek exhaust? It's the best upgrade for the B6 S4 IMO.

The caliper covers are well worth doing IMO; I have them on mine:

Very tidy Stu 8)

Maybe it's where you've parked, but is your front tyre a little low?

Yes I have a cat-back system fitted to mine. I was fortunate enough to find a car with one already fitted which was a bonus. If you do a search on here you'll find plenty of info and discussion about Milltek exhausts, and everything you need to know about getting one can be found here.

Even just the cat-back system frees up a bit more power, but the most satisfying gains are the aural ones! It's a massive improvement over the standard system, and the tips fill out the valance perfectly leaving a proper OEM look. Here is mine:

Regarding the calipers, the most popular colours seem to be red, black or silver. I went for silver because that's how they are when they're new and I wanted to preserve the OEM look.

Do you mean on or off the car? Can you see my picture above? I have some others I can post if you like.

Hi Mock, yeah on the car I meant. Wanted to see how they look.

I have a cat back Milltek on my Avant, and to be honest didnt notice any difference in performance, only to the exhaust note...obviously!

Does replacing the cats make much of a difference?

Yep, it is, got a bit of a slow puncture going on, but not done anything about it yet.
