Hi,

I am planning on buying a Milltek exhaust and wondered whether the Audi dealer might be funny if I needed to claim on the 1 year warranty i got with the car ?

I spoke with a sales guy at the dealership who said it could void the warranty....any thoughts or experiences ?

Thanks

Officially they are correct, it would also depend on the warranty company if they were to inspect the car prior to authorising the repairs. As most instances the repairs are authorised without inspection. More importantly, would the Audi centre be prepared to bend the rules?

You could always remove the exhaust prior to any inspections/warranty repairs.

I may have a second hand Milltek system for sale, removed from a 03 covered less than 5000 miles.

There's a lot of misinformation spread about mods and effect on warranty.

The only effect will be if you have a problem and they can suggest the cause was the exhaust. If it's a bearing, electrics, etc etc etc then you'll still have full cover. If it's a melted valence then of course they may make noises.

NO mod completey invalidates the complete warranty. The mod has to be the cause of the problem for them to duck their responsibility.

Admittedly I've made this sound black and white and to be honest a bit of grey can come in. However out of all the mods you can do, sticking an exhaust on is probably the safest thing.
