Emmigrated to Aus... but couldnt leave my car behind!

Well, Ive been contemplating it for years and finally submitted my CV for a job back in June. Had my tele interview etc and got offered a job in Perth so moved down here in September.
Couldn't leave my beloved toy behind (plus couldnt afford to buy one down here!), so shipped it over with my house contents. Personally I wouldn't go through the hassle of doing it again, but I finally got it all registered and everything yesterday... and fitted the CHEESIEST custom plate to it
Yummy

Good work fella - must have cost a fortune to get it shipped all that way! Nice pad as well BTW

Was cheaper shipping car, paying duty and getting some stuff tailored to meet AU regs than it was to buy a similar car here (plus hardly anyone has an S4 down here to start with - they cost a FORTUNE!). Shipping wasnt that expensive as I had a container with my household contents coming anyway, so they put the car in with it

Duty and tax (GST) was painful though.
Thanks - yeah MUCH bigger house down here than the one I had back in Blighty

Yep big move. Me, the missus and my 2 kids. Loving every minute so far. Wish I'd done it years ago now I'm here. Nice weather, friendly people and easy living. I just had enough of the rat race in the UK and the commute from the South coast to London every day meant no time for my family. Here I spend less than an hour commuting each way and I live quite a long way out of town compared to most people.
Oh - and I'm into sea fishing big time. I'm in heaven here :p

Nice job. How long did it take for the car to be shipped?
Did much have to be changed on the car for Aus to let it in?
