S4 AMD Upgrade?

I currently own an S4 Avant in tip.
My question for you guys is that I am considering the AMD sage III upgrade but have two questions;
1. Can you feel that extra 40 BHP so is the performance significantly improved?
2. Does it affect economy and reliability?
Your views would be appreciated. Many thanks.

I've never owned a stadard one so it's hard to comment. I drove a standard S4 at the Audi driving experience but that was auto (mines manual) so hard to compare.
I'm getting high 18's for the mpg.

Had my S4 saloon from new and kept it standard for first 16 months. Had it Stage III tuned by AMD last summer. It is a phenomenal difference. Mine went from 337 to 387bhp on the dyno's. It is also a Tip and the Miltek system for the Tip has a slightly different valve to the manual version (due to the auto gear-change relying on pressures) and so sounds better than the manual. Performance wise it is a completely different car and have been over the marks on the speedo in Germany with the Road Angel showing 171mph. I live and drive mostly in London and my average fuel economy has gone up from 14 to 18mpg since tuning. It's great fun watching all the standard M3 owners faces drop as you leave them standing in a straight-line as well as through the turns. "The bloke on Top Gear said mine was faster. Waaaaah!"

£3,800 through Wayside Audi. They offer the AMD tuning for the same price that AMD do it and keep your warranty valid too. Talk to Craig James on 01908841155, he used to work for AMD and will tell what is available. They've got a nice new S6 there too so go drive it.

Stage 2 only for S6. £1,399 plus VAT. You get the Milteks though and believe me the difference in sound is all part of the fun.

For clarity, any mod affects your warranty. I've even called Craig and spoken to him about this.
They supplement with a third party warranty to cover the mods. I know it's only semantics but the difference is if you break down whilst abroad etc, don't expect the local Audi dealer to resolve it under warranty (if it's the mods that are the cause.) Of course if it's not the mods that are to blame then any dealer would do it regardless of if it was done at Wayside / AMD etc etc.
