Delayed throttle up in S4

Post by peachyracer » Fri May 05, 2006 2:43 am

Ok, lemme try this again. I tried to post this before but for some reason it didn't show up. Must be a spacer problem. Anyway, I have a bone stock '04 S4 6-spd (Noggy as y'all put it, with the white interior), and when I go back to power, there's a delay of about a half second before I get what I asked for. When I get it, it's a fairly abrupt amount of throttle. I can't get a nice squeeeeeeeeze of throttle with the ESP on or off. (BTW, this problem can't be blamed on the spacer.) I took it to the dealer and they said there's nothing wrong and that if I chipped it, it *might* go away. Anybody else have this kind of problem, and if so, how'd you fix it?
Thanks,
Pete

Not got this problem - but i believe there was a TSB (or what ever its called) for a throttle software upgrade - this might fix your problem

Thanks for the info. That sounds like the exact problem I'm having and my car was manufactured before the update was available. I'll call them and see what they can do.
Thanks again!

Hi Pete
My car had the throttle software upgrade done today and it is now much smoother throughout the rev range.
The part number of the CD is 8E0 906 961 E which cost me £1.50 plus vat and the left it in the car after the upgrade.

I never got to see the CD. It's handy you still have it. Glad it worked for you.
