Brakes

Post by MarkB » Mon Apr 17, 2006 9:37 pm

Question to all 4.2 S4 owners...

What do you think about the standard brakes? Owners of B5 S4's don't tend to rate the standard brakes, I just wondered if Audi had made a better job on the newer cars.

Thanks
Mark

Have owned B5 and B6. B5 brakes crap, B6 brakes good.

345mm x 30mm vented non floating disc with a floating caliper similar to the standard B5 RS4 caliper. AFAIK

I was wondering if it would be a budget upgrade for a standard B5 S4????....

Seconded. The B6 brakes have far more feel, bite harder, whilst still being nicely progressive, and fade far far later than those on the B5 after some persistent thrashing. Quite sharp at first, but you soon get used to (and come to rely on) them.
