buying an s4, some questions
i am in the market for an s4 avant, i am interested in the one currently at birmingham audi (b6,o5,900 miles,red,£37k)
what kind of discount can i expect? i am paying cash.has anyone had any experience of discounts with audi dealers?
it is a lovely car but £35k is really my limit, does anyone think this is realistic?
thanks for your time

RE: buying an s4, some questions
B6 S4 prices are all way over at the mo - look at trade prices where an 03 is worth c£24k.
Maserati GranTurismo GTS Auto, S3 Sportback, TT2 3.2 Roadster, Disco3 for the heavy stuff.

Not a huge amount of additional spec there... Just the leather, dipping mirror, autochanger and BOSE. The "real" cost of that car brand new would have been (correct me if I'm wrong) just over £40k - but as the model is well and truly "run out" now, and the B7 has replaced it, it does seem very expensive. I picked up a similar car for similar money back in October, but it was completely unregistered and totally brand new.RACHAELINNC wrote:hi the spec is as follows

There should be a bargain to be had, here.

Same here, which is one reason for plumping for the B6 while I could still get a new one in Nogaro!RACHAELINNC wrote:thanks frank,
not a huge fan of the new s4 grill, as hard as i try i just cant seem to like it
although i hope the new styling grows on me as i wouldnt mind the new rs4 avant in a few years time
thanks
The dealer should be taking serious offers on the car, as they'll want to replace it with a new B7 demonstrator shortly

Have you tried the Audi used car locator?
www.audi.co.uk
Lets you see the available Audi stock nation wide......compare prices/specs etc.
If you like the car.....chance your arm with a low offer......they can only say no,given that sales are depressed they might bite your hand off
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Not holding out much hope of the new RS4 avant looking any better than the awful saloon.......time will tell.
Cheers fc

my partner was weary of this, as you hear about the horror stories of abused demonstators,it doesnt say if it is a demonstrator in the description, the mileage at 900 miles would lead me to believe it is.
how much more discount do you think i should get for an ex demonstrator?
would anyone advise against buying an ex demonstrator? any horror stories?
thanks

Some people advocate thrashing new cars as it "makes them quicker" and although it shortens the life, how many of us will keep the car that long.
I think I've replied to Rachael on another forum (tyresmoke). I don't think the B7 will impact the B6 prices much at the moment but in about 12 months this will probably have a bigger impact. I'd be surprised if the dealer goes lower than £36k.
