S4 dropping clutch

Post by Merlot » Mon Feb 28, 2005 11:39 am

I sometimes find that after a bit of spirited driving in first that the clutch refuses to come fully up after the change to second. This maybe lasts 30 secs or so. There is also the nice burning smell!

I'm not talking about dropping the clutch on fast standing starts (don't do that) just reasonably fast progress. Anything to be worried about or is it just the clutch looking after itself? (B5 S4 did the same also but to a much lesser extent).

Yep, have experienced the same, more so on the actual change into second (ie slipping clutch). Can't be too surprised I guess, it has to try and reign in 340 horses!
