S4 engine covers

At a recent meet, ScoTTy and I had both our bonnets open, and his saloon sports a rather nice pair of plastic engine covers to the left and the right.
My (brand new) Avant appears to be missing these. I queried the Dealer, who says "oh, Audi have stopped putting them on" which seemed a little too neat a reply, for me...
Can anyone confirm? Any technical bulletins to back-up the Audi Dealer?
I'm not that bothered about the trims themselves, but I can't stand being lied to and its a matter of principle to find out the truth!!

Pi$$ off, you're not welcome here
Its RS246 & therefore exclusive to RS owners, not for the lesser cousins with S models
They must have fallen off

These (ex-) TT boys, I dunno.
Maybe try Audi UK customer services on 0800 699 888.

Simon, not sure if you realised my post was very tongue in cheek (hence the smillies).
I've known Tim (JampoTT) personally for quite some time & was just poking fun.
His car is a stunning piece of kit (albeit with bits dropping off).

Funny thing is that if Paul had been paying attention at the last meet I saw him at, he'd have been able to recall that an S-Line 1.8T Quattro owner (with a brand new vehicle) had the same problem with missing engine covers...
Given that Audi are no longer fitting mats in the rear of new cars as standard

it wouldn't surprise me if they have also cut back on the engine covers too.

I was out with JampoTT this evening. Audi Customer Services have confirmed the engine covers are no longer fitted.

I'm getting old, its cold & nearly Xmas

, so i'm entitled to forget stuff, but i do recall you had the same problem with your S-Line but i did not put 2 & 2 together as Tim was asking about S4's so never thought to mention yours.
Does look a little tight of Audi to no longer provide them. Perhaps the weight saving enhances performance

No......... its cos you can't see the brake fluid level with the trim (around the battery) fitted. Loads of false warnings due to incorrect filling.
