G'day all,

Need a bit of advice, Iv ordered a 05(B6) mod S4 v8 4.2 Manual due to arrive around November.

I need options an recommendations on the following:

1. Dog box or Straight Cut Gear set  .
2. Exhaust system
3. Re-chip or aftermarket ECU which seems to be the best option?
4. Intake system - K&N or other options/kits.
5. short shifter
6. R-comp tyres? tried and tested track and STREET.

Also has anyone here connected a HIH or GARRET VF22 turbo to the V8? or a SPINTEX supercharger? pros/cons.

This is my first AUDI so im not really up to date with addons  .
(iv been running FASTFOURS up to now)

Thanks in advance.

Tricky without knowing what is available in Australia. In the UK there are a limited number of options on the B6 S4 as yet. It might be worth having a browse of the forum and identifying other owners from your side of the planet so they can give you an idea of where to look.

I feel I should add the disclaimer that I am obviously not the greatest expert as I don't actually understand your first point "Dog box or straight Cut Gear set" but I am a B6 S4 owner who has looked at mods in the past.

Good luck and have fun. :beerchug:

Thanks fr the comments, any ideas/ recommendations are welcome.

A "dogbox" is a gear set with Extra "DOGGS" which when added to "Straight Cut" gears allows Flat shifting in a race situation without needing to use the clutch to change up or down........cuts your shifting times down by seconds.

Most vehicles are Syncro gear sets.

Im probably going to use a Miltek exhaust system with equal length headers. Supercharger with a cut-out of 3600rpm low torque only.
Twin air intakes with a twin throttle body system - gives greater throttle response times.

Sway bars front and rear with tower braces. hopefully i can get near neutral handling with a very slight understeer.

The Milteks are certainly the most popular option over here. I've test driven an S4 cab with them and they definitely improve the car, both in terms of sound and performance.
