Audi S4 4.2V8
Milltek gives the New S4 4.2V8 added muscle. Milltek has developed a performance exhaust for the New S4 that put together with an AmD remap (www.amdtechnik.com) gives the car an astounding 403 bhp.

The free flowing Milltek system is sound optimized , with an aggressive note throughout the rev range that reminds you that you have a V8 up front, whilst keeping the exhaust note outside the cabin and not in it! Milltek are now working on a further increase in power by designing a Hi-Flow sports catalyst installation.

Listers of Stratford (www.listers-stratford.audi.co.uk) have worked with both companies on this package and have a fully kitted demonstrator.

Now this sounds really interesting as I test drove the new S4 swaying on whether to buy a new S4 or a 2nd hand RS4.
I was dissapointed to discover that the 4.2V8 had less torque than my AMD chipped B5 S4. However, I loved everything else about the car.

Hhhmm time will tell... either way I'm not able to buy either until at least the end of the year

I forgot to mention any details on the torque developed?

I agree it sounds interesting, however I still think it's not for me, as I don't tend to drive in the peak HP region.

If the torque is also well up, it means that that at best it will still only be slightly better than my car (for my driving), and that's for having to buy a new S4 (or a nearly-new one at a silly Audi used price) and still spending at least £2K more to mod it.

No, it still makes sense for me to keep my car and wait for the RS4.

Definately, keep your S4. The only thing that would be worth considering is the RS4.

Certainly the B6 one. The B5 one would not be a 'step-change' enough for me for the price.
