New sprint blue S4 owner

Post by rich89 » Thu Mar 19, 2015 5:51 pm

Hi,
I've just bought a 2005 S4 in sprint blue.
Lovely car but quiet as hell inside haha.

I noticed a bit of whining from the engine as i'm driving along, nothing excessive but I can still hear it (no supercharger unfortunately) any ideas what it could be??

Also, how many sprint blue S4's are there in the UK, roughly??

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum

I had a 2005 S4 with tiptronic box the whining could be an idler pulley or belt. Hard to guess without hearing it tbh.

Sorry, should have mentioned, it's a manual.

Still could be a load of different things. Does the noise stop when you press the clutch ? If so it could be the clutch bearing.

I'll check tomorrow.
Getting it serviced tomorrow so I will get them to have a little look.

Is sprint blue a desirable colour on the S4? There's like one for sale and that's it.

Each to their own taste my S4 was sprint blue and I traded it in for a sprint blue RS4

I think it's the best colour. Get it detailed and machine polished and you'll be impressed how deep the shine is.

I really want those wheels. I don't think the standard S4 ones look good.

I was after an S4 before deciding to buy the RS4. Looks like a good example, how many miles and good s.history?

Haha, Lambo is my business partners.
Its done 73k with 'alright' history. It has a few Audi stamps, then a random garage, then quick fit (£1200 somehow) and then it is being serviced tomorrow.
Drives great tho. I've been driving a diesel A3 for the last month so nice to be back to something nippy.

Sprint FTW!

There's quite a few sprints up here, avants and saloons.
You got any plans for your car?

I'm getting rid of the horrible orange bits in the headlights.
Would like some different wheels but as I have a year to save for my wedding, I probably shouldn't. lol.
