Auto headlights

Post by graney15118 » Thu Feb 13, 2014 11:37 pm

My last two cars (Golf GTI and Golf R) had the 'coming home' feature on the head lights, they would come on when you unlocked the car, which I quite liked, just wondering if anyone knows if this is possible to do on the B6? Like and option in the Vagcom that you can set? I'm presuming that you would need auto headlights though?

Cheers!

Auto lights and comin home lights are two different things. The auto lights need a sensor behind the interior mirror and the coming home work off a switch next to the headlight switch. Not sure if either can be retrofitted or what other bits would be needed.
Current car: 2007 BMW 530d touring.

Auto lights and coming home lights was a factory fit option. Belive it was part of a package that included the dimming rear view mirror.

Coming home lights had a little dial to the left of the light switch

This is a left-hand drive car so the positions are reversed but, if you have auto headlights (they turn on automatically when it's dark enough) you'll have an 'Auto' position on the main switch. If you have 'coming home' lights there will be a small dial next to it with a 0 and 1.
