Rear Discs
Hello All,
I have recently changed the front brakes on my car (B6 S4 Avant) and i thought i'd change the backs as a matter of cause. I got the discs and pads from ECP and stripped the rear end down.
Now, looking at the discs i have recieved, they look like they should be simply mounted onto the hub and secured with the small torx screw, but they discs on my car are not of that sort, they look like the type that are inclusive of the rear bearings, i cannot see a securing screw and i don't want to hit the disc to get it off incase it leaves me stranded. All the 'how to' guides appear to show the discs secured with the small torx screw.
All i was wondering is would it be possible that previous owner has changed the rears over for another variant of A4? The front's are off a B7 RS4 so i'm starting to think the rear are different too!
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers

Re: Rear Discs
Cheers mate, yeah they look similar to the ones that are on the car at the mo, except for the small torx screw hole, but not the ones I have in the box, maybe they have given me the wrong ones!

Re: Rear Discs
Ones on the car look fine to me - edited to add I mean those look like original B6 S4 discs

I would say just <beep> them with a hammer from behind. They should come off.

Re: Rear Discs
Not all brake discs are held in place with a retaining bolt though most are. Use a rubber mallet on the rear of the disc both above and below the hub, hitting the disc in the centre and it should fall straight off.

Re: Rear Discs
I must admit I was giving it pretty big licks with the rubber mallet I just didn't wanna go too far without checking as I didn't want to put excess stress on the bearing incase it was the type that is integral to the disc, cheers for the replies, I'll hit it a bit harder!

Re: Rear Discs
Have you made any progress yet removing the discs?
