Do I ever have to change my timing belt?

My S4 is getting to 95k now and I'm thinking I may need to change a few things. Anybody got any tips? I'm also feeling the gear shift a little tricky when changing. Is this a symptom of a failing clutch?
Thanks in advance!
Dave

The S4 doesnt have a belt as such only an auxillary one. The main drive is 4 chains tensioned by oil tensioners. The chains in theory don't need changing but the tensioners are known to not be for life along with the guides. Is yours a B6 or B7? The B7 had slightly uprated guides but still not 100%. To change the lot is about £1200 in parts plus the labour of removing the engine as they are at the back.

Mines a B6. So I'm guessing the tensioners could be getting to the point of renewal. Mmmmmm, 1200 quid is a lot of dough. Not sure the car is worth more than 8k now. Hmmmm.
