B7 S4 Avant - Found

So my search is over and it's been a long wait to get sat back in to an S4

It's a little leggy at 107k but having previously owned by B6 Saloon between 74k and 147k before passing it on due to unforeseen personal circumstances, I know this car is going to hold well.

The condition of the interior could be described as unmarked, and the outside not displaying the age of a car of this mileage - a few small lacquer stone chips and a single dent (VERY small) in the horizontal roof panel between B and C pillar, otherwise it's a superb example of a Sprint Blue S4. New xenon bulbs supplied to be fitted also, which given the flicker on the near side was on the 'to do' list.

Clean bill of health MOT last Friday (no advisories at all, not one bloody CV boot needing attention thank god!), new tyres (Pirelli), discs and pads (Mintex) all round

Couldn't be happier.

Now to find an update for the sat-nav and a lightning cable converter for my iPhone

I'm a bit of an OEM fan to be honest, so it'll stay stock. It's got this far without having someone else's style 'inflicted' on it, I should honour the condition and essence of the car - we wouldn't all love them so much if it weren't good to begin with, right? :)

Just phoned the stealership...and I tell you this much, the term is very much used correctly - 'certainly sir, we can get a SatNav disc to you for tomorrow, that'll be £230'

Thanks, but no thanks

Have a feeling at that speed of delivery they'll be available at TPS so I think a quick call to them to see if they're available closer to the 100 mark might be in order

I picked up a genuine 2012 disk from gumtree a month or so ago.

Worth keeping an eye on there as they were much more reasonable than flee bay.

Good purchase as well! Had mine for 3 months and still can't stop smiling!

Cheers

Steve

I got my disc from ebay for £24 and that has the speed cameras and latest maps. Has worked perfectly.

Hi there,

I got a 2012 disk recently from ebay that was a hit and miss. I asked him to send me out a second one which he did. But during that time, I got another that worked. I would be willing to send it on for you to try.

Managed to find a download of 2013 with Speed Cameras on some dodgy website, definitely need to try something, although the firmware is at 650 the damn thing crashes when I try and use it - so I'm assuming this is the original disc being a problem or maybe the laser head needing a clean.

If I get it working on a dodgy disc I think I'll consider selling a lung to get an original disc from Audi

Always the little things after buying a car that niggle eh - the V8 sings beautifully and the handling tracks exactly as expected...I don't even use SatNav but it's bugging me it crashes lol :|

Just thought I'd mention I'm not condoning using non-Audi discs at all - In fact I'm a big advocate of using non-pirate software and ensuring music is downloaded legitimately etc

However, given the cost of the disc I'll justify my 'experiment' as a 'try before you buy' scenario - worst case scenario I'll be trying a load of cleaning techniques and getting my original, Audi, disc working correctly

:)
