Engine Bay Warning Sticker - Missing

Good morning,

So, kind of my first post - my old account being cmw-s4 and I've only used this account to put a WANTED: advert up in the Classifieds section, so here goes an attempt at not breaking 'The Rules'

I took a look at an Avant over the weekend, not entirely as described - or shall we say, not so honest regarding the condition of the vehicle, however generally cosmetic issues. However, upon doing the usual amount of research I discover a 'minor' detail that causes concern - missing slam panel Sticker.

Two photos attached, the grey missing the Sticker, the blue, displaying red warning Sticker quite obviously.

Both vehicles are in the public domain so no alteration to the photos, they are as obtained from a well known vehicle advertising website :)

Thoughts? Other than the grey is to be avoided and the blue is possibly a bit strong on the money? Also whilst previewing my post before submitting - notice the indicator bulbs appear clear on the blue avant...any ideas on that?

Thanks

Craig.

(awaiting the obligatory FON)

At around late 2006 / early 2007 the headlights went from having orange indicators to what appear as clear indicators.
My slam panel is also missing the Sticker as I changed my alu grille for a black optic one and any new grill from audi will come without the Stickers.

Thank you MikeFish - most useful regarding the bulbs

As for the possible change of grille - I personally can only see one reason for this given it's the standard chromed affair. The paint finish on the inner part of both wings was matte, not lacquered at all, even my current POS Skoda Fabia has some lacquer there from the factory finishing I would imagine...so I guess the next question is...anyone else got completely unlacquered inner wings...where the wings bolt on to the inner wing of the engine bay?

Looks like I will have to up my budget and keep waiting...

Yes, I forgot to add uses the car has black optics and the grille was changed from black to chrome then the next most likely explanation is that it has had front end damage and been repaired.

Ps, the de-tangoing of the headlights might have been from factory or it might have been done as a mod. If it was a mod there are two ways of doing it; buy the later headlight unit which is quite expensive, or the cheaper and more popular way is to open the headlight up and make the internal changes then put it back together again. As it is glued together there is a chance they didn't do a very good job of it, so check for any moisture in the headlight.
