Weird rattle coming from drivers rear somewhere. B7 S4 Avant

Guys
I've had this strange rattle (like a tinny metal tapping) for a week or so now, can only hear it with windows down. Sounds like its coming from drivers side rear wheel. I've had the wheel off and nothing obvious. I was expecting to find maybe a loose bracket/bolt/washer but nothing. I can turn the hub round and round but no noise, exhaust looks and feels solid enough, all the heat shields are secure etc.. Had the passenger's side off too and nothing. It definitely gets louder and faster when the car gets faster, like either somethings hitting something or worse, could it be in the drivetrain?
It's really bad on a right hand turn, like on roundabouts, but I don't notice it on left hand turns. Also quite obvious when accelerating hard then immediately taking foot off accelerator..
The car is lowered on H&R springs.
Any suggestions before I get it into a garage?
Cheers

i used to have a tinny metal tapping noise and it was the rear heat shield.. it was really annoying. It's worth getting back under and trying to tighten everything!

Trying to find someone that can get it onto a ramp so I can get a proper look without charging me a fortune..
MaLice, would I not feel a wheel bearing? At the moment there's no vibration or any difference to normal driving, feels fine. Just a really annoying tinny rattle.

Corroded caliper spring clip. It ticks and taps on the caliper. Wire brush the caliper and clip and use a little aluminium grease on the clips contact points

Jack the car up, leave the wheel on, grab it at 12 and 6 (if it were a clock) then try and wiggle it.... Then at 3 and 9 if there is movement it's a bearing or bush or similar.... If not then you will need to look deeper and check calipers etc... Check there isn't any wire or some road debris wrapped around the drive shaft too.

+1 to xyber, start with the cheapest fixes ie the calliper clip £2 for some lithium/ally grease

Well, finally got the car onto a ramp this morning and checked all wheels/brakes etc and found nothing untoward, then had a look up and down the exhaust and what do you know?? A fairly obvious wearing mark on the drive shaft right next to the right hand hanger for the Miltek!
The hanger sits about half an inch from the shaft at first glance but if you pull the exhaust over there's a fair amount of play on those rubber mounts and it clearly touches the shaft so when turning right the weight shifts left and so does the exhaust and makes contact with the shaft.
The hanger on the left section is on the outside of the exhaust so can not possibly touch the shaft so I'm not sure why the right hand side hanger isn't on the outside either unless it's a wrong part!?
Anyway, gave the hanger a slight bend with a bit of heat so it can't touch the drive shaft now, problem solved!

Treat yourself to some powerflex exhaust hangers matey they will hold the system a lot tighter, had em on me old sierra cos the zorst weighed a ton !!!
Worked a treat on a more permanent basis
