The DIY flashing technique is up on JHM's ECU tune page now.

I've e-mailed Keaton for more info and the cost of the required cable.

From JHM:
Thank you for the email regarding the ECU tuning. We are offering the Tune Cable at a price of $150.00 also you would need to purchase the Tune on the same invoice for the normal $550.00. The cable is pretty simple to use especially with the instructions you will receive from Jason once you complete your purchase. In short you will logon to our tuning VPN server and load the tune to your ECU. You will have the option of choosing a 91 and 93 octane gas for your tune. Being that you are over in the UK where gas is better quality I would suggest running a 93 oct Tune.

Pft! - Yanks are their crappy gas, whilst recently in the States I told a salesguy at a Ford dealership (was test driving a Boss 302 Mustang :rocker: ) that my missus ran 95Oct in her Cooper Cab every day to commute to work.. he asked me if it was race tuned, who made the fuel, and did I have to get it from a specialist distributor?!?

Anyhoo.. v.interested in this thread!

£150 dollars for a cable and £550 dollars for an e-mail ?

I thought I could make easy money until I saw that

I don't think it's 91 and 93 RON. According to folks on Audizine, they have a different measurement system. I think 93 is like our super unleaded; maybe not V-Power though.

I spoke to my garage about gutting the pre-cats and he said it was a massive pain to get them off in some cases. He also said they do a tune so that might be easier.

This is great news. Saves having to post off the ECU to them.

Does anyone know if it is a learning map? So that if I did it now and then changed more it would adapt or would I have to map it again?

Judging when I should do this...

Why would you map your car to inferior fuel ? Even the colonials best fuel is tops 95 octane by our measuring system, I can get my car mapped at a local specialist for £500 and I get to actually watch someone do it, you dont have any labour costs yet you want more money ?

Surely it's a no-brained!!! MRC every time.....YOUR engine mapped with the fuel YOU use with whatever mods you have already done. Not some yanky notion of what your car should perform like on the fuel they run in the US of A!!

They must have changed design since the first set I bought cos these error all the time - and they switch off too.
Careful buying from Ultraleds.co.uk. The stuff I've bought hasn't lasted and the latest thing is they've refused to let me return some bulbs that hairline cracks in them. They were rude when I emailed them about the issue, even though we're only talking about a few quid. Speaks volumes on their customer service. Anyhoo, just wanted to avoid anyone making the same mistake as me.

Is the cold air feed mod worth it, what wound the gains be? Good luck with the 400bhp I'd love to see it done.
