Home again. Just my luck to start feeling crappy the night before I've got to get up at 0330!

It went pretty well, bhp figure was abit disappointing but the torque wasn't and now I've driven home and played around abit I'm more than happy because it flies throughout every gear. 4th gear top end is great!!

Auto levelling headlight sensor packed up on the way up and a drop link bolt fell out on the way home. Sorted the drop link already and I'll look at the sensors tomorrow.

I'll get the graphs up the second I get the email from Doug

I was expecting 400bhp or something out of mine, but having spoken to Doug it put it all in perspective. mine made what, 356bhp, up from 339 stock, but the torque made a big difference in driving. if it feels better driving home thats gotta be a good sign.

Yep, I started at 325bhp and ended on 344bhp so I looks like your decat is a good bang for buck mod and shows just how much cats can strangle these engine!!

Mine also pulls really smoothly now, the extra torque makes it quite deceptive. Driving along and suddenly you realise you've pushed the pedal down abit more and your in danger of earning a ban. I noticed better MPG on the return trip aswell, even with a lead foot playing with my new toy. Also noticed how quickly it revs and climbs up the gears, especially after the manifolds switching point

I might take it across Dartmoor tomorrow to see how the whole rev range feels, didn't really get chance today with my ARB problems and heavy traffic, but I should be fun.

So all in all, on paper the gains don't look that great, but the feel of the car makes it worth every penny so far. Check out the torque curve

see, the thing is this, did you get your car mapped after getting the miltek done (and before the spacer) - the reason I ask is because your gains might be more attributable to the zorst than the inlet spacers! if it was mapped before and you had 325bhp, you are down on stock, but you know the gains are in the inlet.

if not, then its hard to quantify the split, I had mine mapped on stock, and it makes me wonder where my split of gains are as it went from standard to full decat non-res, so in theory, 19bhp of my gains could have been the same as yours because we have the same backboxes? if so, then the decats and airfilter attribute to 12bhp by my estimates.

I could be way off on the split though, but those are the common denominators between our cars.

I'm in the same boat mate, the ECU wasn't touched till yesterday so the MRC tune has pulled together the exhaust, cats, manifold, throttle body and spacer. That's NA tuning though isn't it, you need loads of small gains to add up.

I'm going to watch the progress of the JHM supercharger kit to see the price per bhp and how it's put together. If it's as easy to fit and offers the same gains it'll be great if the price isn't sky high. But then the VR6 engine will take mental boost with very little work (I knew of a couple that ran 12psi without even lowering compression) and return huge gains, whereas the S4 will need to be handicapped to convert to FI and then you need to claw back even more power to make it worth while when most kits seem to run 5-6 psi max

I am thinking now that I will probably keep the car the way it is for the next two years or so and them maybe plump for something that will give me the grunt I want, probably an RS6 estate I think, and rip the DSC out straight away and put a good set of coilovers on it.

Superchargers do seem a good way to go, but I look at it long term and feel that for the expense (£5K+) I would rather invest in something more tunable. I can't afford a new style RS6 and not many other cars out there appeal to me. who knows.

If you are on a definite N/A power pursuit, maybe look at NOS, without going silly on Jets that is.

If I dont supercharger it, id probably head towards and RS6 or a 996tt, ive got to get rid of that turbo itch at some point haha

Theres something about NOS ive never liked, it just seems like fake power to me and unless I had built the engine fully to cope with huge power spikes I wouldnt bother, plus its abit drag strip orientated

I just know from a friend who had a N/A Supra with NOS as to how quick it was compared to my TT Supra without.

I love my S4 but power is addictive. just gotta see what happens. good reading about your experiences with it though mate.

I finally got time to do my Dartmoor run today to really see how it performs, not had chance since My trip to MRC. It's sooo good, with the big increase in torque it absolutely flies across the hills and twisty stuff. At one point it reminded me of playing Wipeout on PS1 years ago. With my engine mods, suspension setup and tyres it's so easy to go like a rocket with very little effort. Pleased is an understatement. Until you can actually drive somewhere where you can use the improvements you've made you don't realise just how much difference it's made. All in all, anyone who's done full exhaust and wondering what to do next, I highly recommend this!!
