Ok guys heres the latest!!!
Had a call from the 'New' car sales manager today as the 'Used' car sales manager is on a course till Thursday. He said that he would take the car out himself to assess the clutch. He called me back about 2 hours later to confirm that he got the clutch to slip...........HALLIHUHA!!!!!!
However.........he then told me that the S4 & RS4's clutches all slip if you are too quick on the gas when releasing the clutch!! Said that there was too much power at once for the clutch to handle!! He then tried to tell me that its not the clutch slipping but the drivetrain absorbing the power and transmitting it to the wheels!! Never have I heard so much pish before in my life!!!!!!
I told him that I would be down in Manchester on business this coming Friday and that I would be in to see them later in the afternoon.
I spoke to Audi UK customer services again today also but to be honest they werent much use. Told me to try and come to an agreement with the dealership myself.
I drafted a letter under the guidance of trading standards last Wednesday giving them 7 days to repair the car...this runs out on Wednesday.
I'm going to reject the car. I've now had enough.

All I can say i don't thump anyone........ I am now in possession of a seriously bent laptop.....
This in my experience is typical but you do need to give the dealer at least three attempts to put the SAME fault right before you can legally reject the car, you do have upto 6 months from purchase during which time you can reject and get a full refund. Always put the rejection letter in writing and recorded delivery, not by fax as they can/will deny receipt.
Throw it back and run as fast as possible with your cheque if you get it. Don't be afraid to make a vocal fuss in the dealership (always worth a laugh), they will try and manuoverve you outside if you look like kicking off.
Still I wish you good luck and aim for the full price paid, nothing less.
