The Scooby WRX STI pro-drive( pink badges?) is a pretty quick car.....sat behind one yesterday waiting for him to overtake a van on a 2 mile straight road.

Lad pulled out and floored his car, up to 120 mph it pulled really strong, after that he pulled back in to let me past as my RS4 was trying to chew off his rear number plate

Mine is standard at present - the scooby i was up against (5 times on 1/4 mile run) was the WRX STI Prodrive Performance Pack. I would like to get stage three on my car, i believe this will take the 0-60 to approx 4.7 ??

Scotty - what is your take on the stage three having had it ??

Cheers

hehehe He probably won't see this as I don't think he'd lower himself to visit us sub 500bhp owners in this forum. :D

Just to clarify my post above was in reply to Jampott and not Audiweb or FranckC or at least I think it was coz I was pished and don't even remember posting it!!

Audiwebb - I think it's blinding. The exhaust/cats etc make a huge difference to noise as well as performance. On Wednesday I'm having my car dyno'ed without the chip and then dyno'ed with the chip. I believe the biggest change is with the exhaust system but I do notice that it's not quite as sharp as it was without the chip.

Hi Tozerman, I like the performance of EVO Impeza ect but I need more. I'm too old to drive about in cars with so many lumps, bumps, scoops, handels and parcel shelves on the outside, it's just too embarasing!!!!!

Sorry my mistake..S4 204bhp ton, P1 217bhp ton :boohoo:

On a serious note if I had a really long journey to do then the S4 would win hands down no argument, but if I wanted to go for a blast on some country roads then the P1 would win.

IN AN IDEAL WORLD YOU WOULD HAVE BOTH

A rather wide fellow in an EVO MR-320 wanted a race yesterday - he indicated this by a death stare and heavy revving next to me at traffic lights. Nothing would have pleased me more than to make him look even more stupid, and but a) I was with the wife and b) I probably would have lost? Anyone had the pleasure?

Oh and yes, I WAS in Essex. Just passing through I hasten to add.

Don't bother. I'm sure even the bog standard Evo's are all sub 5 secs to 60, so in traffic light drags you're always gonna come off worse. The only place you'll possibly trounce 'em is flat out on the motorway, but even then it'll be close & you'll either kill yourself or say bye bye to your licence! Be more interested in hearing any tales from the RS4 crew; at least their 0 - 60 is in keeping with the Evo's, especially the modded ones. I tell you what though, I wouldn't like to shell out 50k+ for the new RS4 and have a 15 grand Evo VII Extreme pull up next to me at the lights

It's a real shame those Jap boys don't produce a more subtle version of the Scooby/Evo, you just can't argue with the fun & performance per £. As they are, the only people who seem to drive 'em are the type that insist on racing everything in sight from the moment they leave their front door. Don't think I've ever seen an Evo being driven sensibly. I like driving fast for my own pleasure, without having to prove to everyone else on the road my car's fast, hence why I chose an S4! 8)

Sorry, forgot to mention I am RS4... Unmodded though. I agree, If they made a type 25 Impreza in station wagon form I'd be tempted. The saloon with bookshelf spoiler brigade seem to be a different breed altogether.

Ah, no wonder he gave you the death stare then, he was doubly gutted, cos
a) you've got a nicer car
b) you've got a wife, so obviously no problems in that department
