Just thought i'd update this, i contacted Audi about the issue, and in the nicest way possible - they basically told me where to go! And i never did get it paid for with the 'warranty' I paid for when i got the car - wasn't really worth the money!
On the plus side the car is still nice and quiet in the engine bay department! It's up for sale soon as i may be entering RS4 territory
