Can you fit a towbar to the B6 S4?

Offically no due to lack of space to fit the required cooling. The valance is also a problem.

Unofficially it has been done.

maybe I'm missing something, but my B6 S4 has a towbar (on my request it was fitted when I bought it 2nd hand from the Audi dealer). It's a removable type, with the electrics connector swinging up behind the vallance when not in use.

I briefly looked at the instructions a few weeks ago and I recall it had specific Audi A4 fitting instructions. For fitting, it required that a section of the vallance is cut away (about 3 x 40 cm I think, but I can check the instructions)

So not sure what the problems are that Scotty reports.... ? (NB I live in Holland so its possible there are different parts etc). Let me know if you need more info,

and btw, I have a saloon, not Estate (might make a difference ?)

The information I posted is was I was told by Audi UK. I used to have a contact at head office and ran through this with him. If you look in the options list you'll see all A4's can have towbars...apart from the S4 but thankyou for proving my point that it can be done.

Currently have a B5 S4 and have a towbar fitted that also could not be done. Just curious as when its time to change my choice of cars will be the RS4 (new or old), S4 B6 and the RS6.
