Bulb error with no faulty bulb ?? :-/

Post by BadWaz » Wed Feb 12, 2014 2:23 pm

I replaced my drl and sidelight bulbs for error free led bulbs today (including capacitors) and low and behold the 'bulb out' error was flashing on my dis. So I removed the led bulbs and re-fitted my standard bulbs, but the error still beeps/flashes on my dis? I have checked all bulbs around my car and all of them are working, and VCDS does not pick up any fault codes :bash: Does anyone have the answer please?

I have searched previous topics but only find the error code from fitting led's not standard bulbs.

Hi mate, check the connections on the back of the lamp holder, i know mine were not very good when i fitted my LED's, you may have had a dodgy connection in the first place and in fitting the new lamps you may have disturbed it? Enough to still light the light, but not provide the correct resistance back to the computer?

Just shooting from the hip like, hope you get it sorted

Ah nee bother mate, wasn't sure if you'd checked them or not.....hmmmm strange..... If all the terminations and bulbs are sound then maybe it's worth disconnecting the battery incase there is a fault stored in the ecu that hasn't cleared for some reason? Good old general reset! Haha
