Soon to be S4-owner saying hello!

Post by JamesW » Wed Oct 27, 2004 3:08 pm

Hi all,

A quick introduction - Been reading this forum for a while, but having recently placed my order for an S4 - an S4 Cabriolet in Dolphin Grey, with SatNav+, red leather (I know, tart's boudoir etc.!! ), Bose etc. from Listers Stratford, I thought I should say 'hello'.... :bigwave:

I decided that i needed something with:

4-wheel drive
Fast
fun to drive
Nicely Understated
seats 4 (just!)
At least some boot space
reliable

As you can see, there was only one choice!!! :kissmyrings:

After a test drive in Listers' (slightly lairy, it has to be said!) S4 Cabriolet demonstrator, with full AMD Stage 3, I was smitten! So, I'm hoping to get my car in mid-January. Can't wait!! In the mean time, look forward to reading up on these forums, and hopefully participating.

Regards,

James W

Hi James

You'll love it. Instead of dreading those "erand" type trips into town, you won't wanna come home! Be prepared for forthcoming divorce.....

Red leather + Dolphin Grey....yes, perhaps a bit lairy on the inside, but a lovely combination nonetheless.

Start saving for that stage 3. Just the noise on it's own is worth it.

Thanks for the encouragement, guys!

Yes, I am looking forward to getting the car - and am seriously thinking about the stage 3.

Seeing as my last car was a (highly-tweaked) Lotus Esprit Sport350 (0-60 in under 4 secs., 0-100 in under 10!!), you can never have too much power or torque!!!

although, as I said, one of my reasons for ditching this and getting an S4 is that the S4 is a lotg less 'obvious' - a real 'Q' car...

Just a few things I'm wondering about:

1. If i go for the AMD Stage 3, does it completely invalidate the warranty??

2. If one removes the governor on the s4, what is the (theoretical) top speed? Does it make much difference?

3. Does anyone have any photos of a Dolphin Grey cabriolet? I'm seriously thinking of changing the colour to metallic black, as I loved the Listers Demonstrator - however, can anyone comment on how easily the black shows scratches or marks? Is it quite durable?

Cheers,

James W

[1] Mods only remove the warranty on that or parts is affects
[2] There is no limiter
[3] Found on audiworld.com : HERE

p.s. 0-100 sub 10 is seriously fast!! :P
The S4 will do a 1/4 in about 13-14secs

Yes, the limiter on my B6 seems to be malfunctioning/missing too!

Welcome to the club. I'm sure you'll have fun in the stealth car; the only way they'll know what hit'em is if they spot the mirrors...
