Miltek Resonation Exhausts
Hi Final question for the day.
I noticed with the Milteck otions that there is an offering in Resonation and Non-Resonation, Is there anything clever to know about this other that I guess the Resonation exhaust has a burble that I have heard on the RS4's
Follwing on from this question, my local Audi garage said the Miltek exhaust will make a great noice, as my S4 is quiet in the car, but I'd hate to swap it out, and have somethign I couldnt live with, then again, what do the insurance companies think if told about it, as I guess they consider it a performance upgrade.
cheers for your time
John

Re: Miltek Resonation Exhausts
Milltek offers theirs exhaust as resonated or non resonated.
The only difference is that the non resonated exhausts are louder than the resonated ones.

I know what you mean, if your spending on making the car sound nice, dont dial it back. Though I had a scorpion on a M3 that made it unbareable

Re: Miltek Resonation Exhausts
i love millteks.. altho some of their quality has been brought into question of late!
i had a Mk4 R32 with Milltek manifolds, 100 cel race cats, and non-res cat-back and it was waaay too loud... i added the centre resonated box, and it made it just right... removed all the boominess, and left the raspie goodness!!

Re: Miltek Resonation Exhausts
One key difference that may or may not sway your decision is that the resonated ones have EU approval and as such you will never have any legal issues with it.MikeFish wrote:Milltek offers theirs exhaust as resonated or non resonated.

non-res are not approved as they don't meet the noise regs.
Now saying this, many people haven't had an issue but worth being informed.

Re: Miltek Resonation Exhausts
I had the Milly Sports Cat and Resonated on my S4
This was loud enough without an dronning issues.
Went Non Res Valved on the RS4 and the drone can be a bit of a pain, i certainly wouldnt want to add the sports cats or piggies to the RS4 with non res.
Would say that it also depends on how often you drive the car - if a daily driver then i would go resonated with sports cats - sounds very good.

Re: Miltek Resonation Exhausts
Res isn't much louder than a stock exhaust! Until you are pressing on hard! Non res is a bit louder...
I have non res with bypass pipes so it sounds like this

Yes I know it's dirty lol
