Anyone want to trade exhausts?

Post by R33 » Mon Oct 31, 2011 11:06 am

Hi,

I've got a full MIJ hand made exhaust system fitted to my B7 S4 Avant Auto that I'd prefer to swap for a standard exhaust. I'm giving my car to my wife and she doesn't want to draw attention to herself with the V8 true sound.

The exhaust is a full stainless system with 200 cel sports cats and custom downpipes. It has quad tailpipes that closely mirror the standard ones but are slightly bigger. Noise wise I'm told by MRC it's somewhere between a resonated and non resonated Milltek and MRC said it was one of the nicest sounding S4's they'd ever heard. I use it as our family car and I find it quiet and unobtrusive when driven gently and it has a great V8 roar when you put the medal to the carpet! It's passed 2 MOT's no problem too.

It cost me £950 about 14 months ago and took a whole day to make. I'm looking to sell/swap with someone with a B7 S4 with a standard exhaust and Quad tips. The donor exhaust must be in good condition with nice clean tips and with working butterfly valves. The donor car must also be an Auto too as I think the auto and manual exhausts aren't the same.

I'm only looking for £350 as a gesture towards the price I paid and you pay for all the workshop costs. We'd need to meet on a Saturday at a garage somewhere to do the swap. I'm near High Wycombe so anywhere in a 50 miles radius would be OK as long as it's not east of London.

I'm in no rush but it was just a thought, let me know if you're interested. :s4addict:

I've pointed this fella in your direction.
Audi S4 Avant (B6, 2004) in Goodwood Green.

OK so I need to get this done now, I'll drop the price to £200 and you pay swap over costs.

If I don't find a full donor system I'm going to have the back boxes cut off and the original boxes welded to the MIJ system which seems like a real waste of an expensive hand made sweet sounding system.

It's annoying as I still have the old boxes but scrapped the full original system :(

Yeah I could but it's a bit of a pain, easier just to cut off the boxes and fit the old ones back on, a shame but oh well. We did look at putting in a long centre box but it would reduce ground clearance a bit which already isn't great on the S4.

Any photos of it fitted?

Not sure on how much of a rush you are in as my mate hasn't bought an S4 yet, but looking for a B7 Auto Avant at the moment!

Thanks
