Hi just wondering if anyone can help me with this fault code. I had a new Parrot fitted today, and since then my airbag light has been on. The fitter came back and tried to turn the light off but everytime it just came straight back on. When the Parrot was fitted I was watching and know that he didn't go anywhere near the passenger side door so I am sure it is just a coincidence.
The fault code info that was thrown up was:
01218 - Side Airbag Ignitor, Passenger Side (N200)
001 - Upper Limit Exceeded - MIL ON
Can anyone help me as to what this may be or how to cure it?
Many thanks in advance.
Airbag Light on - Fault Code 01218
Re: Airbag Light on - Fault Code 01218
Hi,
There's a technical bulletin about this fault.
I had the same error a while a go.
There is a yellow plug under the seat for the side airbag ignitor. The contacts are a bit dodgy and the resistance eventually goes too high giving the error.
I cut the plug out and soldered the wires together - this solved the problem.
I can dig the acticle out if it would help.
BTW, it's the plug that's part of the seat harness, not the plugs in the floor.
Regards, Chris.

Don't you just hate it when you take time out to reply and the poster can't even be bothered to respond
