rear valance

Post by smyffie » Fri Jul 30, 2010 11:13 am

Hi All,

Does anybody on here know whether the rear valance on a B6 S4 cabriolet is removable and can it be easily replaced with one from a B7 RS4? I have vaguely heard that they are removable on the cab, but not the saloon or avant. My reason for asking is to put a full MIJ exhaust system on the 'batmobile' but think the oval pipes on the RS4 make a much more attractive rear end than the standard one. I dont intend to pretend I have the RS4, I just want to improve it's look. Hoping someone can help!

Hi,

The valance on the B6 S4 I used to own was all moulded as a single part with the bumper and masked off when painted to leave the grey section.

Is it fair to say your car was the saloon or avant model, as I have got round to having a look underneath and confirmed that the valance is a separate part to the bumper, though not sure as yet how easy to remove.

I imagine if it was an easy exchange then some people would have done it but I can't find any references to it on the web.

I would also be interested as to whether the B7 S4 valance with the cutouts for the quad pipes may fit. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

If not you could plastic weld the dual cut outs in and repaint to match OEM
