Why don't you all the locals just come down to Windsor on the 28th Jan?

Will be there

Gareth, just noticed your avator, what wheels you got on there?
I have looked in your gallery but you haven't put the S4 in yet.
Cheers

Hi Martin

Oh right, do they affect the handling at all, as they are a fair bit wider, aren't they 265 or 275's?

I'm not sure wether to keep the std wheels on the S4 cab when it arrives or not, as I've just put S4's on my avant and wanted them to look a bit more different than just 2 A4's I may go the Sportec way but that would be bumping the price right up to around the £50k mark with the AmD stage 3 and a few extras, which I didn't want to do.

I have just had a great idea...I could go and have a more discreet cab and put my old 17" star alloys on and a 1.8 badge if they do a 1.8 badge on the cab.

Martin

That pic is not my car.

Was one I found and liked the look of and it's the same colour as mine. Might get a set of those alloys though as they do look very nice indeed

Well, I've had the car 4 days and now used more than a tankful of petrol (at about 20mpg ) and I just love this car. It is everything I wanted it to be and I think I'm going to be doing a lot of miles in this car. Plus points (in no particular order) are that smooth power delivery, excellent seats, nice stereo (BOSE), general build quality and feeling of solidity and the sound of that engine. I'm slightly disappointed with the fuel consumption (I get about 23mpg in my SLK32) and the lack of rain sensing wipers.

Despite similar power output, it seems a lot quicker than the Mercedes (both are automatics), which is surprising as the cars must be similar weights. It easily outhandles the Mercedes too, which is really just a "point and squirt" car.

No regrets, this is a truly great car which I really look forward to taking on a track day in the summer.

Just for your info, my current MPG figures are:-

Audi S4 B6 Avant Manual Ebony black 17,000 miles:

Motorway (with Cruise Control 70MPH ish…!) 24/25MPG
General urban 18/19MPG
‘Yeee Haa’ sessions Can’t bring myself to look

I noticed that after the 10k mark, the car seems to have ‘loosened up’ to deliver it’s power with even more urgency but without any hint of stress.
