Some B6 S4 questions

Post by Mr V10 » Mon Jun 07, 2010 12:54 am

I went along with my brother in law today to look at an Audi S4, he liked the car and ended up buying it, do you guys reckon he got a good deal? (Paid £9k)
Also the owner didn't know if the car had a standard or non standard exhaust on it, it sounds nice though... Can anyone tell from the pictures? (see link for add below) I think it could be a Milltek but it didn't say Milltek on it. Can anyone confirm or please post a picture of a Milltek B6 S4 so I can compare? Other then that, I'm looking forward to having a drive, if he lets me!

I think he got a great deal cause i wouldn't want less than 10k for mine and it's the same year.

I can't tell from those pic's what exhaust it has on it. The standard exhaust has a little rumble to it at low rev's but then quite raspy when booting it.

Check if the back box has any valves or suction lines attached. If it does then its standard.

Sounds like a bargain. :) I paid £13.5k for mine a couple of months ago (with much lower mileage than that one and some mods) so I think he's got a great deal.

Those definitely look like Millteks. I think the OEM exhaust tips are flat rather than cut. I've got Millteks on my B6 and they've got Milltek Sport stamped on the top of them (they're the quads for the B7 though).

The exhaust does not look standard. The bore looks slightly bigger than the standard exhaust (From the photograph you posted). As stated above, Milltek will have their name stamped on the top of the exhaust tip.

But not all standard exhausts had the valves or suction lines. My 04 plate B6 has the later exhaust without the values.

Does look a nice car at a very good price. Hope you Pal gives you a shot!
