Had the S4 for a couple of weeks and although I fully understand that most Audi let alone an S4 have generally harder suspension, I can't help but feel that the suspension on this S4 is just too hard ! It's had a 35mm lowering done last year (previous owner) and I'm wondering how much of the hardness is caused by this ? It runs stock S4 alloys, so not any huge 21" spine killers or anything similar so it's not the wheels/tyres.
Just interested to know peoples views o the hardness of the suspension of a stock S4.
Lowered Suspension
I remember when the car was introduced there were a few reviewers complaining about it's fidgety ride, but I can't recall moans about it being over-harsh. You do notice the difference jumping in after driving a more run-of-the-mill motor - it's certainly a firm set up but I've never thought uncomfortably so, and I do mammoth runs in mine regularly.
I'd recommend sticking a set of OEM springs back on.

My S4 avant had been lowered with springs only and the ride was horrendous when compared to stock (although the stance was amazing!) I bit the bullet and bought some OEm springs from the main dealer (circa £280.) The car has been transformed and is now very user friendly.
I agree with Pete.S, fit some OEM springs.
