Oil Level Warning!

Post by Wingnonut » Tue May 05, 2009 1:33 pm

On three occasions now the oil level warning light has come up on the dash when the level has been spot on on the dip stick

Anybody else had this problem or know whats causes it and how to fix?

Unless the oil level sensor is faulty be sure that the engine has been left to rest for several minutes after running before checking the oil level. Also, it is easy to misread the dipstick.

Thanks BlingBling. Have checked it hot cold and warm. Always in the top third above the hashed area as it should. In fact it hasn't used a drop of oil in the 1500miles we've had it.

Anyone know where the senor is and I will check the connection isn't dodgy?

Mine has done it twice, so went out and got some oil, (hense a previous post of "Prefered Oil?" and when checked some 6hrs later, it was spot on. Did it once more, but not since. Now, the last two mornings, my Water Coolant symbol alerts me when i switch on in the morning, and goes off after a minute or so!
