S4 cab to be launched at IAA?
Can any of you German guys give us the lowdown on this? (my German is not bad, but I haven't used it in 10 years)
Is Auto-News reliable information?

Re: S4 cab to be launched at IAA?
Basically an S4 in convertible mode. Presented at IAA 2003, available spring 2004.
Some key optical differences to other A4 convertibles: air intake in front spoiler, aluminum mirrors, double exhaust in S4 style, Xenon headlights in "Titanium"-Look (whatever...), 235/18 aluminum wheels/tires in S-look.
It will have permanent Quattro, 5.9s 0-100km/h.
Regarding reliability: can't comment, but they seem to refer to statements by Audi a couple of times
hope this gives you a quick roundup,
best is to go to IAA and check it out!!

Personally I think the S4 cab will be a fine car.
The V8 is so well suited to cab design and the std cab is so solid and free from scuttle shake.

Personally, Gareth, I think you are right...
Do you reckon that chassis will stand some proper suspension mods and the Milltek power upgrade?
I have been without a cabriolet for too long!

Tim
I'm planning to take an S4 Avant later this year to replace the M3CSL. This will have the AMD mods to give it the performance and character that I feel the std offering doesn't have.
I will then transfer all those mods on to the S4 cab next year and revel in that V8 burble with the top down! I'm sure the suspension-std or modded-will be just fine. The two 3.0 cabs I've driven so far understeered like a pig and didn't have any power/character.
The mods and the V8 will put that right for sure

Re: S4 cab to be launched at IAA?
Cool, Gareth. Its a deeply tempting proposition on so many levels.
The single biggest hurdle to overcome for me would be finding a way of keeping the RS as well. Difficult damned decision
How on earth are you going to be able to say ta ta to the CSL if its everything I hear it is?

Re: S4 cab to be launched at IAA?
Well as I don't drive my CSL away until September 1st I really can't answer that question Tim. I'm sure it will be awesome and waving it goodbye will be painful...

I'll take some pictures of the new S4 cab, when I'm at IAA.

Re: S4 cab to be launched at IAA?
UK sales for the S4 cab are starting in March at the earliest, June at the latest.
Got my name down at the head of the list anyway
