If true, this is the news I've been waiting to hear since I got rid of my B5

Isn't yours a B6?

The B8 does look nice. Might have to get one of those in the future for our family car...

Yes it is, but I had a B5 before it.

Will be a bit of a shame to loose the V8 roar, but surely Audi have lost out on sales because of the lack of worthwhile (& affordable) tuning potential on the V8, so I reckon this is a good move, particularly in these times of ridiculous fuel prices - I'm sure the B8 will be far more frugal but still as, if not more, potent.

The B8 S4 could shape up to be a great car.

Ah, yes. Re-reading your first post I see what you meant. Sorry

Not sure Audi care about the tuning potential but they may have found people less keen on the fuel consumption of the V8.

It will be interesting times ahead to watch

I wonder how much lighter a FI V6 would be than the B6/7 V8? Just that if it os only 320bhp it is light on outright power over the current S4?

It may have more torques but the combination of the two is the answer plus power to weight The chain driven V8 was a fairly light engine anyway, the FI V6 will have to be plenty torquey to be better than the V8 S4 considering the B8 is supposedly another 20-50kg heavier than B6/7
