Just coming up to the end of my 3 year Audi warranty and considering buying an extended warranty from Audi for another 12 months peace of mind.
They want about £1200 for 12 months with a 15K mileage cap. Doesn't seem too bad considering (from previous experience with fast Audis) that it seems to cost a grand each time something needs fixing. BUT how easy is it to get things fixed on the warranty??
Anyone had any experience with these warranties or know of any (cheaper) alternatives?
Extended warranty from Audi
RE: Extended warranty from Audi
I have just bought an 2004 S4 Avant and have been researching warranties. I will have the 1 year dealer warranty but then will need to get something else. I think £1200 + is ridiculous. http://www.warrantydirect.co.uk is quoting around £670 for 12 months with up to 30000 miles per year and that is for all work done with an Audi dealer. If you go for cover which has any work done at an independent dealer, the costs drop to just over £500 per year. That is for their gold policy which covers pretty much everything. It has a maximum annual claim limit of £5000.
If you only wanted to cover the drive train (engine, gearbox and transmission) and were happy to have any work done by an independent workshop, the warranty could be as little as £380 a year.
Worth a look.
