DIS on dashboard problem and also stereo information neeed.

NEed some hlep on how to change the DIs to show average miles per gallon.

This is a car my friend of mine just bought and as far as I can see he has showing only petrol left. Dont know how to change to show other information such as average miles per hour, average miles per gallon etc.

How do I change this,.

I usually change this on my B5 S4 with one button but on the B7 its a completely different setup.

Also does anyone know what stereo system audi fit into these cars?

Are they B&O or blaupunkt or BOSE or other?
Also ive been told that the amp in the car uses fibre optic lines to the speakers. Is it possible to change the system but not the speakers without running any additional speaker wire?

Saf - the DIS on my B6 is the same as the B5, except there are two sets of info stored. So the cycle is:

- Blank
- Set1 (which resets at every start)
- Set2 - long term I suppose
- Sat Nav repeater

On the stereo, I have full sat hav and the sound is bloody good, no idea what it is though...

This car doesnt have sat nav

Its standard, only showinf fueling at present ( how many miles left)

What do i need to press to cycle through to the average mpg and others. Ive tried everything and nothing seems to work.

There should be two buttons on the end of the wiper stalk and one on the bottom.

The one on the bottom should cycle between trip computer 1, trip computer 2 and blank (since you don't have the Audi sat nav). The two on the end should cycle between the different values that the trip computer can display (IIRC instantaneous MPG, (miles since reset on a B7), average speed, average MPG, driving time, miles left).

If you don't have those buttons then you have only the basic DIS - which AFAIK means this isn't an S4 (the full DIS is standard on an S4).

Fibre optics (MOST) is only used on the A6, A8 and Q7 - not on the A4.

Bose is an option on the A4 and S4 (standard on the RS4) - different speakers and amplifer (feeding all 4 speakers) is what this gives you - and, except on early B6 S4s, the Audiopilot system which varies volume and tone according to interior noise (early B6 S4s had the standard GALA speed dependent volume system).
