Brake upgrade question
Brake upgrade question
Just had my S4 serviced and been told the front pads are 80% worn and the disks are lipped and therefore need to be replaced.
Thought this would be a good time to see what upgrade uptions there are, especially as Audi have quote around £500 for the new disks and pad.
So anyone know of what upgrade options there are out there please.
Thanks

RE: Brake upgrade question
I've been looking at this for about a year!
I've just found out RS4 brakes fit under 18" OEM wheels. AMD are doing fronts fitted for about £2k.
Otherwise you can get some Carbotech pads (type depending on use) and change your fluid.
All depends what use you need them for.

RE: Brake upgrade question
2K seems expensive. Parts on the dear side I would say £1500 + 2 hours labour

Audi's RRP on the front setup is £1884.61 inc. VAT

Maybe, but they can be easily bought from many places for under £1500

Try DSGWAGEN on ebay. Works for VW but can get Audi parts
Call 01302 364141 and ask for Rob. All parts come with a VAG invoice so also a 2 year warranty

RE: Brake upgrade question
Cheers for that. I have a couple of lines open at the moment including an Audi employee. I'll see how they pan out first.

RE: Brake upgrade question
Thanks - its mainly for road use, may do the odd track day. Just that as i need new disks i thought i would look at the cost to upgrade seeing as Audi want £500 for the standard disks and pads.
Anyone used / heard of EBC brakes - they do red stuff pads for £90 full set (both front wheels) dont do the disks though

RE: Brake upgrade question
EBC red stuff are sh1te IMO.
Had them breifly in the fron of my evo 6, such a poor stopping pad. I removed them and upgraded to the DS2500 pad from Ferrodo. Alot better , great feel too. I used the same type of pad in the AP6 pots that i later upgraded to also.
Took an awefull lot of 'spirited'use, and stopped the 420bhp410ft/lbs well
